Dentures

At Dental Wellness in AECS Layout, we craft custom-fitted complete and partial dentures that restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence.

What is Dentures?

Dentures are removable prosthetic appliances that replace missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. Whether you have lost all of your teeth or just a few, we have a solution designed to restore your smile's full function and aesthetic appeal.

Types of Dentures We Offer

  • Complete (Full) Dentures: Designed for patients who have lost all of their teeth in the upper or lower jaw. These rest directly on the gum ridge and are held in place by natural suction and the oral muscles. We offer both conventional dentures—crafted after the gum tissue has healed—and immediate dentures, placed on the same day as extractions.
  • Partial Dentures: An ideal solution when you still have some healthy natural teeth remaining. A partial denture fills the gaps with prosthetic teeth attached to a gum-colored acrylic base, often connected by a discreet metal framework that clasps onto adjacent teeth to keep it stable.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures: For the most secure and natural-feeling result, dentures can be anchored to dental implants placed in the jawbone. This eliminates any risk of slipping, allows for stronger chewing force, and prevents the bone loss that occurs with traditional dentures over time.

The Fitting & Fabrication Process

Getting well-fitted dentures is a multi-step process that we handle entirely in-house. We begin with precise impressions and bite registrations to capture the exact shape of your mouth. These measurements are sent to our dental laboratory, where your custom prosthetic is fabricated. Before final delivery, we conduct a try-in appointment to verify the fit, comfort, and aesthetics—making all necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect result.

Lifelike Aesthetics

Premium acrylic teeth and gum-colored bases are shade-matched to your complexion for a completely natural appearance.

Precision Custom Fit

Every denture is built from detailed impressions of your unique oral anatomy to ensure stability, comfort, and proper bite alignment.

Implant-Retained Options

We offer implant-supported dentures for patients who want the ultimate in stability, chewing strength, and jawbone preservation.

Common Queries

The process typically requires several appointments over four to six weeks. This includes impressions, bite measurements, a try-in fitting, and the final delivery. Immediate dentures can be placed on the same day as extractions, but these will require relining once the gums have fully healed.

Absolutely. Modern denture teeth are made from high-quality acrylic resin that closely replicates the color, translucency, and texture of natural teeth. We carefully select shades and shapes that complement your complexion and facial structure so the result looks entirely authentic.

There is a short adjustment period, typically a few weeks, during which we recommend starting with softer foods. As you become accustomed to your new dentures, you can gradually reintroduce most of your favorite foods. Implant-supported dentures restore near-complete chewing strength immediately.

Remove and rinse your dentures after every meal. Brush them daily with a soft-bristle denture brush and a non-abrasive cleaner—never regular toothpaste, which is too harsh. Always soak them in water or a denture solution overnight to prevent them from drying out and warping.

With proper care, a set of dentures typically lasts between five and eight years before requiring replacement. Over time, the shape of your jaw and gums changes, which can cause the denture to fit less securely. Regular check-ups allow us to monitor the fit and reline them as needed.

It is generally recommended to remove your dentures at night. This gives your gum tissues time to rest and recover, reduces the risk of bacterial buildup, and helps the dentures maintain their shape. Soaking them overnight keeps them clean and retains their fit.
